I've just started using using twitter. There is so much chatter that it's hard to know what's worth reading. It got me to thinking why is it so difficult to share the Good News when it is so easy to 'talk' to the world.

How should I go about sharing the gospel? Do people recognise me as a disciple of Christ? Is it my actions or my words that have the most impact?
I try hard to be a light in my community but I sometimes wonder what good can I actually do? and should I be telling more people about God?

But how exactly do you start a conversation about God? and not have people think you're mad! How do you express the love of God in your heart? The absolute certainty that He is the way, because you know Him and He knows you?

People don't doubt that James loves me; he provides for our family, he's there to support us. And God loves us even more than this! He is always there for us, providing for us, guiding us, helping us. If we just trust Him. Yet we all fail to do this.

I think the problem is that we need God! The message of God's love starts with the realisation that we are all sinners, so to tell someone they are saved is to say 'you have sinned'. This is not an easy fact to deal with. We all like to think we are good people; I've never killed, I've never done this or that. But maybe it's the not doing that is the sin. I have also never turned to a stranger on the bus and told them 'God loves you'.

However, God also commands us to 'love your neighbour as yourself'. A friend said to me the other day "how are we to love our neighbours, if we don't first love ourselves." So maybe the first step in spreading Gods love is to love ourselves.

Find time to love yourself!
